Take a look back with Team PSE.
2025 was a year shaped by listening closely, listening collaboratively, and listening with intention. Across new releases, partnerships, in-person moments, and editorial work, our focus stayed on the people behind the sounds and the ways they’re used in the real world.
Find out what we’ve been up to this year as we reflect on the creative work that defined the year at Pro Sound Effects.

New Library Releases
This year’s releases spanned the full range of modern sound design – from production-ready tools built for everyday workflows to more exploratory and archival projects that invite deeper listening.
Developed in close collaboration with award-winning sound artists and recordists, each of our 13 new libraries reflects a shared focus on craft, intention, and real-world use.

Exclusive Vinyl Release
In 2025, we had the honor of bringing I Thought I Heard a Stranger to life. This limited-edition vinyl LP created in collaboration with Translation Loss Records reimagines the sounds of Ann Kroeber and Alan Splet’s Sound Mountain Collection as a journey through abstract, dreamlike sonic environments. It is also available as a high-resolution digital download.

Partner API
In 2025, we launched the PSE Partner API, giving developers and partners programmatic access to our library so they can build deeper integrations and workflows. This update can help teams embed high-quality sound more seamlessly into the tools and pipelines they already use. Interested in learning more? Check out this blog post or request access to the documentation by contacting our Partnerships team.

CORE 7 & New Subscription Options
In 2025, we expanded CORE 7, our flagship sound effects bundle, adding new depth and range while continuing to support real-world production workflows. With perpetual buyout licenses as well as flexible subscription options, CORE 7 makes it easy for individuals and teams to access a comprehensive, ever-growing library when they need it.
Check out Matt Yocum’s CORE 7 Walkthrough to see it in action.

New Partnerships

SoundQ Updates
This year, we introduced meaningful SoundQ updates aimed at reducing friction in everyday library management. One that we’re particularly proud of is our new Watched Folders feature. SoundQ can now automatically track changes to designated folders on a local hard drive or shared network resource, helping sound teams keep their collections up to date as projects and assets evolve. Try out the newest version and let us know what you think.

From the PSE Community
As a fully remote company, we cherish the moments we get to spend together in person connecting, nerding out, and sharing time. Our 2025 team meetups included field recording, wood splitting, eating way too much pasta, and a group listening session for I Thought I Heard a Stranger. To our sound artists, collaborators, partners, clients, and audio friends – thank you for being part of our community. Happy holidays from Team PSE!
