Richard King Honored with Academy Award for Sound Work on Dune: Part Two
An exclusive PSE Sound Artist since 2019, Supervising Sound Editor and Sound Designer Richard King played a vital role in immersing audiences in the unique soundscapes of Arrakis, and received top industry recognition for his work on Dune: Part Two, winning the Academy Award, BAFTA, and MPSE Golden Reel Awards for Best Sound. He also garnered accolades from more than a dozen organizations, including the Association of Motion Picture Sound (AMPS), Online Film Critics Society Awards (OFCS) and Online Film & Television Association Awards (OFTA).
Golden Reel Wins for David Whitehead, Randy Torres & Joseph Fraioli
Fellow PSE Sound Artists David Whitehead and Randy Torres joined King in winning the MPSE Golden Reel Award for Outstanding Sound Editing in Feature Effects/Foley for Dune: Part Two, recognizing their expertise in crafting its intricate and visceral sound design. Whitehead also earned the NCFCA Award for Best Sound Design, reinforcing his impact on one of the year’s most celebrated films.
Additionally, Joseph Fraioli claimed a Golden Reel Award for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Broadcast Animation for his work on Secret Level, proving that innovation in sound extends beyond the silver screen.
PSE also congratulates Sound Artists Eric Norris (Deadpool & Wolverine), Chris Diebold (Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F), and Matt Snedecor (The Bear) on their MPSE Golden Reel Award nominations for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing from their work in Feature Effects/Foley, Non-Theatrical Feature, and Broadcast Short Form, respectively.
