Coming soon: Exclusive new ambience and wildlife libraries from the BAFTA winner’s personal collection.
Pro Sound Effects is proud to welcome award-winning sound artist and field recordist Chris Watson as our latest partner. In the coming months, we’ll be releasing exclusive new libraries from Watson’s collection of nature and wildlife recordings captured in Northern England and the Scottish Borders.
Following his success with the influential experimental music group Cabaret Voltaire in the 1970s and ‘80s, Watson developed a passion for recording the sounds of wildlife and natural habitats in his native U.K. and around the world. As a freelance sound recordist and composer, Watson has received BAFTA awards for his work on David Attenborough’s Life series and the BBC series Frozen Planet, as well as accolades for his broadcast work with the BBC’s Radio 4 and World Service programs.
“I’m delighted to be joining Pro Sound Effects to release a unique collection of recordings from some of my favorite locations.” – Chris Watson
Chris Watson in the Scottish Borders.
Watson has worked extensively with RTE Radio 1 on the 'Sound Stories’ series, received a Paul Hamlyn Composers Award in 2013, and had his music featured regularly on the BBC Radio 3 program Late Junction. In addition to his broadcast and music work, Watson creates spatial sound installations focused on the sense and spirit of place, including commissions from many international galleries and festivals.
Watson’s appreciation for the soundscapes of the natural world shows through in his award-winning work, and we’re excited to bring his immersive field recordings to the Pro Sound Effects platform. Stay tuned to add these exclusive new libraries to your collection!
