The latest SoundQ update is here, making it easier than ever to import large Collections, rescale the UI with key commands, and see license and purchase info for any sound at a glance. Download the latest version here and try it out for yourself!
SoundQ is our free desktop app that helps you find sounds faster, organize your local library for quick search, access the PSE library in the cloud, and drop sounds right onto the timeline in your editor of choice. We’re constantly improving SoundQ with your feedback, and every update brings new features to speed up your workflow and help you manage your sound effects library.
Watch the video above for a guided walkthrough from Nick Ainsworth, or read all about the new features below.
It’s now easier than ever to import large Collections while keeping your existing organizational structure intact. When you drag and drop a folder into SoundQ, you’ll now see an option labeled “Maintain Folder Structure.” Check this box, and SoundQ will automatically create matching sub-Collections from each subfolder (previously, all files would go into one master Collection).
Whether you’re a first-time SoundQ user importing your own personal sound effects library or a manager who needs to give your team access to your in-house libraries, this new feature will make it a snap.
The SoundQ app now supports Zoom In and Zoom Out using standard key commands (Cmd+/Cmd- on Mac or Ctrl+/Ctrl- on PC). Whether you need to rescale the UI for optimal visibility on a 4k display or make it more legible on a small laptop screen, you can now do it with universal key commands.
This important accessibility feature has been on our list for a while, and we’re excited to finally implement it seamlessly with SoundQ’s resizable windows. As Nick demonstrates in the video above, zooming in or out not only changes the size of text and icons, it also adjusts the size of the waveform view, Collections panel, and File Info panel.
The File Info panel now displays purchase and subscription options for all PSE sound effects you don’t already have access to. Just below the library artwork, you’ll see options like “Buy Sound” or “Subscribe to CORE Complete,” depending on the sound effect. This makes it easier to see your options and purchase or subscribe to any sound instantly.
Here’s how:
The File Info panel also now displays license information for all PSE and CC0 sound effects. In the same place you’d see purchase options for unlicensed sounds, you’ll now see one of four access levels:
Clicking the dots to the right of your access level gives you more options. “Open in Website” takes you to a page where you can view the full details of your license. If you’re subscribed to a sound but don’t own it outright, you’ll see a “Buy Sound” option which will instantly purchase a lifetime license for that sound.
Try out the latest version of SoundQ now by downloading our free app. If you’re already a SoundQ user, simply open the app and you’ll receive an automatic update prompt.
